Hainan Oud Shell Chunks

Sourced from the native agarwood forest belts circling Hainan Island, nourished by ocean monsoons and a high-humidity climate. After agarwood trees form resin following natural damage, the surface wood undergoes weathering under repeated exposure to sea breezes and morning dew, gradually developing a matte taupe thin shell.
The outer shell is as thin as a cicada’s wing, crumbling at a gentle pinch, while the inner part is condensed with amber-colored honeyed resin. The oil veins wind along the wood grain like meandering streams.
Fragrance Profile:
Top notes bring fresh herbal aromas mingled with a faint wild floral scent; heart notes shift to a clean, sweet honeyed fragrance, as soft as a sea breeze brushing the tip of your nose; base notes deliver a mild, non-irritating cooling finish with woody warmth. The layers are clean and pure, free from any off-notes. When heated at low temperatures, the aroma drifts like a thin mist—ideal for quiet moments in the study or tea-tasting sessions in the tea room, perfectly embodying the elegant slow-paced life of the East.
Usage & Applications
Incense Burning: Break into small pieces and heat indirectly without direct flame. No complicated preparation is needed, and the fragrance remains pure without any smoky aftertaste.
Handcrafting: The inner core can be ground into powder for making incense pendants or filling sachets; the dried outer shell can be used as a base for incense holders, boasting a natural and unsophisticated charm.
Admiration & Display: Keep the intact shells and place them on a curio shelf in your study. Their weathered textures exude a distinct sense of time and history.
